Introduction
His name was K’ab bin Zaid bin Qais bin Malik and he was from the Banu Najjaar tribe. He took part in the Battle of Badr and was martyred in the Battle of Khandaq [Ditch]. It is said he was hit with the arrow of Umaya bin Rubiya bin Sakhr. He was from among the Companions of Bir Maona, where all the other Companions were killed however he was the sole survivor.
