During various battles, Hazrat Muhammad (ra) bin Maslamah was appointed by the Holy Prophet (sa) to oversee Medina [in his absence]. Hazrat Muhammad (ra) bin Maslamah’s sons, Jafar (ra), Abdullah (ra), Saad (ra), Abdur Rahman (ra) and Umar (ra), are also counted amongst the companions of the Holy Prophet (sa).
