Hazrat Qais bin Ubadah (ra) once came to Medina to meet the companions and states that he found Hazrat Ubayy (ra) bin Kaab to be of a lofty rank. He states that it was the time for prayer and people had all gathered and Hazrat Umar (ra) was also present. There was a certain matter for which people needed to be given guidance and so after the completion of the prayer, Hazrat Ubayy (ra) stood up and related sayings of the Holy Prophet (sa) to the people. Their passion and zeal to listen to what he was saying was evident from the way they were all attentively listening to him. Hazrat Ubayy’s (ra) extraordinary status had a left deep impact on Qais.
